Tonight I sang Kaylee to sleep for the first time!
After nursing her I put her down to bed, but she was still crying. After 3 minutes of letting her “cry it out” Scott & I went into the bedroom and held her hands. We didn’t pick her up, but I started singing to her…AND IT WORKED!
She fell asleep after I sang my grandfather’s song Pastures of Plenty through 3 times. She was very tired from not taking any long nap today and so I gave it a shot. What a wonderful feeling it is to put her to sleep by the sound of my voice.
When I was a child my parents used to put me to sleep by singing and playing the guitar to me. They used to have to sing and play for a very long time before I fell asleep. I can’t imagine what that must be like, but it did feel great knowing that she was lulled into sleep just by my singing. I truly LOVE being a mother. The bond is unimaginable and so powerful.
Sweet dreams Kaylee!

So beautiful Anna, This is what we did for our kids…now men. It’s a gift they’ll never forget.. It builds a foundation and bond for their whole lives.. I’ll bet Kaylee will do the same for her children some day…imagine that!! Love ya bye.. Aunt Liv
That’s so wonderful! I’m so glad you’re keeping track of these life milestones and really making these memories a permanent part of your experience and something that she can look back on when Kaylee is grown. Congrats! Miss you, Kate
